With the Academy Awards happening in the near future, have you decided to host your own movie-themed party? If so, from sending out movie-themed invitations to playing games that relate to families who have famous movie stars in them, here are some ideas that might help you to plan a fun event that your guests will remember for a very long time.
Movie-Themed Invitations: You, of course, could just text or call those on your guest list to give them the necessary information for your party. However, don't you think it's a lot more fun to receive an invitation in the mail? The invitation will actually help to set the mood of your party. For example, on the front of the invitation you could depict your favorite movie star, like the classic Katherine Hepburn, or a more recent famous star like Julia Roberts.
Think of inviting your guests to dress like their favorite movie star, too. Or, if it's a couples party, you could ask your guest to dress like famous couples. You might end up seeing people dressed up like Lucille Ball and Ricky Ricardo or like Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward. Don't forget to include contact information for your guests to RSVP so that you'll know about how many will be attending your party.
Movie-Themed Games: Think of making your games challenging. For example, almost everybody knows who Julia Roberts is, right? Fewer people might know that her brother, Eric Roberts, is a movie star, too. Give clues like, This celebrity starred in The Dark Knight, Runaway Train, and King of the Gypsies. Or, you could describe Eric Roberts with clues like, This movie star has his own unique look, but his mouth looks very much like the mouth of his famous sister. Another clue might be, This star has a famous sister and a famous niece. Of course, the answer will be the talented Eric Roberts. And then, if you like, you can all watch an Eric Roberts movie.
Another idea for a movie-themed party game would be for you to give clues regarding families who have multiple actors in them. For example, you could give a clue like, This father and his daughter were featured in the movie Golden Pond. The answer would be Henry Fonda and his famous daughter, Jane Fonda. Another clue might be, The first initial of this famous family trio's last name starts with the letter R. And, the answer would be Julia Roberts, Emma Roberts, and the great Eric Roberts.
